25-3-2025 – A prominent Bitcoin investor has significantly bolstered their holdings, acquiring 2,400 Bitcoin valued at $200 million on 24th March, as reported by blockchain analytics firm Arkham Intelligence.
This strategic accumulation follows a period of calculated divestment, during which the investor had previously offloaded 11,400 Bitcoin amidst February’s price fluctuations, when the cryptocurrency’s value oscillated between $100,000 and $86,000. The investor’s portfolio now boasts an impressive 15,000 Bitcoin, with a total valuation exceeding $1.3 billion at current market rates.
In parallel developments, the cryptocurrency landscape witnessed the reemergence of a dormant Bitcoin whale, who stirred after an eight-year hiatus. This long-term holder transferred 3,000 Bitcoin in a single transaction on 22nd March, representing a remarkable value appreciation from $3 million in early 2017 to $250 million presently.
BlackRock, the global investment management titan, has demonstrated increasing confidence in the digital asset, systematically expanding its Bitcoin holdings through 15 distinct transactions. The firm’s iShares Bitcoin Trust spearheaded a resurgence in spot Bitcoin ETF performance, successfully reversing a five-week outflow trend with net inflows of $744.4 million.
The cryptocurrency market’s dynamics extended beyond Bitcoin, with significant movement observed in the Ethereum ecosystem. A notable Ether whale expanded their position by 7,074 tokens on 21st March, whilst the cryptocurrency’s open interest reached unprecedented levels. The network has experienced substantial growth in high-value addresses, with wallets containing minimum $100,000 worth of Ether increasing from 70,000 to 75,000 between 10th and 22nd March.
Recent market indicators show Bitcoin trading within a range of $81,000 to $88,000 over the past week, marking a 3% uptick on 24th March and establishing comfortable distance from its recent $76,900 trough of 11th March. Meanwhile, Ethereum has maintained movement between $1,876 and $2,097, though remaining significantly below its November 2021 peak of $4,878.
