24-7-2025 – Brazilian fund manager VERT has completed the first transaction on its new XRP Ledger-based platform, issuing a $130 million agribusiness receivables certificate (CRA) through blockchain technology. The launch represents Brazil’s largest traditional asset manager’s entry into distributed ledger operations for private credit management.
VERT selected XRP Ledger for its low transaction costs, processing speed, and energy-efficient consensus mechanism, positioning the platform to handle institutional-scale operations while meeting Brazilian regulatory requirements. The blockchain system aims to replace legacy processes with real-time auditing capabilities and streamlined documentation for private credit transactions.
The inaugural CRA issuance demonstrates how blockchain technology can enhance transparency in Brazil’s agribusiness finance sector, where traceability and efficiency remain critical challenges. VERT’s platform allows investors direct access to structured credit products while reducing traditional paperwork and settlement delays that have historically limited market liquidity.
The move establishes VERT as the first major Brazilian financial institution to deploy blockchain infrastructure for private credit operations, potentially influencing adoption decisions among other Latin American asset managers.
