2-9-2025 – El Salvador will host Bitcoin Histórico, the world’s first government-backed Bitcoin conference, on November 12-13, 2025, in San Salvador’s historic center. The National Bitcoin Office announced the landmark event as “a testament to an extraordinary moment in history,” reinforcing the country’s pioneering role in cryptocurrency adoption.
The two-day conference will transform Centro Histórico into a global hub for Bitcoin discussions, with the main stage at the National Palace broadcasting keynote addresses to Plaza Gerardo Barrios via giant LED screens. Additional sessions will take place at the National Library and National Theater. Confirmed speakers include billionaire Ricardo Salinas, Lightning Network developer Jack Mallers, and Bitcoin advocates Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert.
El Salvador made history in 2021 as the first nation to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender under President Nayib Bukele, who recently secured constitutional changes allowing presidential re-election and extending terms to six years. The government currently holds 6,220 BTC in its treasury, according to official disclosures.
The announcement comes as Bitcoin trades above $109,000, recovering from last week’s 6% decline. Institutional demand remains strong, with companies like Japan’s Metaplanet adding 1,009 BTC to reach 20,000 total holdings. US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $440 million in weekly inflows despite market volatility.
General admission tickets are priced at $350, with VIP Genesis Crown Passes at $2,100. Early bird sales open later this month, accepting both Bitcoin and traditional payment methods.
