6-9-2025 – The Ether.fi Foundation has used 73 ETH in protocol revenue, worth about $314,000, to repurchase 264,000 ETHFI tokens this week. Announced by the foundation on X, the buyback saw 155,000 ETHFI tokens burned to reduce circulating supply, while the remaining 108,000 were distributed to sETHFI holders—stakers of the governance token.
This move aligns with Ether.fi’s liquid staking protocol, which generates revenue through Ethereum validation and restaking services. The program, ongoing since earlier this year, has now accumulated over $5.6 million in ETHFI repurchases, bolstering token economics amid volatile crypto markets and supporting long-term holder incentives.
