The sophisticated operation employs two distinct strains of information-stealing malware, orchestrated to compromise both Apple Mac and Microsoft Windows systems.
At the heart of this deceptive scheme lies a fraudulent offer of premium TradingView features, a widely-trusted platform amongst digital currency traders. Cyber criminals have crafted compelling Reddit posts that dangle the prospect of accessing exclusive trading tools without subscription fees, preying on users seeking cost-effective trading solutions.
The true extent of this cyber threat becomes apparent when unsuspecting victims follow the deceptive links, which redirect to spurious websites rather than TradingView’s legitimate platform. The consequences vary depending on the user’s operating system: Mac users unknowingly download the AMOS malware, whilst their Windows counterparts fall victim to the Lumma variant.
These malicious programmes are particularly dangerous for cryptocurrency holders, as they possess sophisticated capabilities to harvest sensitive credentials and potentially execute unauthorised transfers from digital wallets.
