24-7-2025 – Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse issued a warning today about a surge in YouTube scams impersonating the company to target XRP investors. Fraudulent channels, some boasting over 170,000 subscribers, are promoting fake 100 million XRP giveaway campaigns, first flagged by community member Xtina George, as reported by Ripple.
Like clockwork, with success and market rallies, scammers ramp up their attacks on the crypto community — PLEASE BEWARE of the latest scam targeting the XRP family on @YouTube and impersonating @Ripple’s official account! We will keep reporting these – please do the same.

These scam accounts mimic Ripple’s branding to appear legitimate, despite the official Ripple YouTube channel having fewer than 82,000 subscribers. Ripple clarified that hijacked accounts are rebranded to deceive users, emphasizing that the company never requests XRP transfers. Garlinghouse noted that XRP’s recent price surge has fueled increased scam activity, urging investors to verify sources carefully.
This follows a deepfake video of Garlinghouse promoting a fake event, which Ripple’s CTO swiftly debunked. The XRP community has faced similar threats before. In 2020, Ripple sued YouTube over comparable scams, settling in 2021. However, Garlinghouse criticized social media platforms for inadequate protections against such fraud, which continues to exploit XRP’s growing visibility.
